Melbourne - Sydney part 2
As promised I am back to write about our road trip adventures.
We started driving at around 3 pm since we couldn't pick the car up any earlier. So we knew we had to do some serious driving to be able to sleep at a descent place and also make enough kilometers so we didn't have to drive too much the other two days. But we had no clue where in Melbourne we were (we had to pick up the car somewhere in a suburb) and with no detailed map to help us Tim had his map-reading-skills cut out for him. Tim however did an excellent job and we found our way out of Melbourne in the middle of rush-hour. It took me a little time to get used to the car though. It was bigger than I could've ever imagined and every time we had to pass a narrow road or bridge I was scared I was going to hit something or someone. It all went well though, and as we left town the roads got bigger and easier to drive on.
While leaving town it started raining however, and on the radio we heard there was a massive storm heading towards Melbourne and it was due to hit within the next hour. We had lots of rain, but fortunately we had outrun the worst part of the storm.
We were heading towards Lakes Entrance for the night, about 350 kilometers away from Melbourne. We were gonna camp on our fancy rooftop tent, but the weather was so bad that we decided to just find a room and stay dry. We spent a great night and started driving towards a town called Narooma the next day.
We had a bit of road scares that day though. The rain was making small rivers on the road, and one time I drove through one that was deeper than I could see. The car pulled towards the water and right towards the cliffs. Luckely I was able to steer the car back to the road and we survived/ We nearly didn't survive a near accident with a truck however. These truckers here drive like madmen on small country roads that are just big enough to fit two cars. So while driving a corner suddenly one came out of nowhere with high speed. With no where to go I steered as much to the left as possible and prayed we wouldn't get hit. It just missed the car and left us with a near heartattack.
The rest of the road trip was fortunately not as adventurous. The only sad thing was that it rained for about 24 hours each of the 3 days we were on the road trip. So we couldn't really enjoy any of the beautiful sights on the way. We had a lot of fun though and managed to bring the car back in one piece to Sydney and start our last week in the land down under.
Check back soon for Sydney stories and pictures!

Hi folks,
Liefs,
Marry
