Road trip part 2: Port Fairy to the Grampians
So our last stop was Port Fairy. Nice enough, but there's much more to come. Today we got up on time to drive to Halls Gap in the Grampians.
We arrived around midday and checked into this lovely backpackers called Tim's Place. Can't sleep any better place than that can you?? So after we checked in we headed off for some lookouts and some hikes. First stop were two great lookouts. One lead to the best know icon of the Grampians: The balconies. It was a 2km walk in the heat, but it was well worth it. After the balconies we went to Mackensie Falls. This was a very steep way down (and so back up again too). After we got down we got a great view though. The falls were really nice! The climb back up wasn't so much... after we got back to the car we had enough for the day and headed back to the backpackers where we just chilled for the night. The backpackers was full of other dutchies, it was quite funny.
The next day we both couldn't be bothered to do any more walking, so we decided on a chill day by the pool. It ended up being a great day except for the horrible sunburn we got (Tim is still red as a tomato). The day ended watching the final of the mens tennis with some more dutchies. Good times!
Tomorrow we're on the road again. Next stop: Port Campbell (Great Ocean Road)
