Adelaide, Australia — Joreel Siegel, January 27th
Australia day & A day at the zoo
So Monday we arrived in Adelaide. When we got off the plane it was such a delight to feel the temperature was around 32 degrees instead of the 42 in Alice Springs. What a difference a few degrees can make huh.....
We got into a cab and he drove us to our fabulously chic and fancy Intercontinental hotel. A little bonus I get from work :p . We settled in and went out for some looking around to find a nice place to eat. We ended up having an awesome dinner (Tim had kangaroo) and after that we went to a movie to end a great day!
Tuesday was Australia day. You can compare it to queensday in holland – so a lot of people on the streets partying and drinking. We chilled out by the river all day and at the end of the day saw the Australia day parade. Afterwards we headed out for a lovely pasta dinner and back home.
Today, wednesday, we got up to an early start to go to the Adelaide zoo. Biggest headliner: the two giant Panda bears that arrived here only 6 weeks ago. We had to line up and wait for half an hour to get in, but it was well worth it!! (see the pictures.) The rest of the zoo was wonderful as well, displaying some beautiful birds and animals. We finished the day shopping and having a cheapy budget dinner at McDonalds (not a favorite... but we're traveling on a budget...). Tomorrow we pick up our car and start our 9-day road trip from Adelaide to Melbourne. Hopefully we will be able to blog while doing so, so check in!!!!

Wat een mooie pandaberen! En wat fijn van die temperatuur daar. Hier was het dinsdag zo koud, Rob ging op de fiets naar school, met twee mutsen op.
Dikkie heeft een minnaar, een roodwitte kater, die zit uren lang op het schuurtje in de sneeuw naar haar te loeren. En soms horen we s'nachts gillen.Heel hard!

Vind het fantastich al die foto''s en verhalen, wat een prachtige reis. ben jaloers op die heerlijke temperatuur het is hier behoorlijk koud. Blijf lekker genieten liefs claryXXX

Heb je je huisdier "torretje" ook op de foto? Geniet lekker verder jongens. Blijven smeren, doe ik ook maar dan tegen de kou.

Ik heb net een nieuwe lens erbij gekocht! een 55-250 mm. Heel cool voor inzoomen op dieren! Leuk dat iedereen berichtjes achterlaat!

Hi folks,
Leuk om steeds jullie nieuws te lezen en de foto's te zien. Is Adelaide een leuke stad, is er naast de dierentuin veel bezienswaardig? Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de komende reis en straks naar het totaal van jullie indrukken over land en mensen. Hier is het onveranderd winter, met sneeuw, ijs en gladheid. Jullie hadden geen betere periode weg kunnen gaan, alhoewel het besneeuwde landschap schitterend is.
