Amsterdam — Joreel Siegel, January 01st
A week before departure
The new year is upon us! I hope it brings good things to all of you! To us the new year brings our upcoming trip to Australia. Something we've been looking forward to for almost a year now.
The big trip is really coming closer and closer now. 8 days before we leave!! Time to figure out what we still need to buy and arrange before we leave. 6 weeks is a long time to be away from home, and apart from the fact that Jochem is looking after our house he is also looking after our cats. And as some of you might know they do come with a bit of a manual. So time to get writing, cleaning, buying supplies for the cats and ofcourse packing our bags.
Luckely alot of the stuff we needed to plan and arrange has already been taken care of, like our visas, my international drivers licence and booking some tours, hotels and rental cars. All we have left to do now is buy some small stuff and print out our travel itineraries. Everything we forget after that we will just buy in australia.
Right now it is very hard to imagine that a little over a week from now we will be in sunny australia with temperatures over 30 degrees celcius. Especially since it's been a snowy winter wonderland here in Amsterdam for the last few weeks.
But before we get packing i am also celebrating my birthday this sunday. I am turning 26 and i decided to throw a very fashionable High Tea party. So tommorow will be spent in the kitchen telling Tim what to do (since i had an accident on my bike and injured my arm). Hopefully it will be a succes and we will have lovely finger food to eat!
This is our first real blog post. But please stay tuned as we will be updating this site regularly when we actually make it down under!
